Long-term follow-up when risk behaviour persists
In patients who continue to have unprotected oral, anal or vaginal sex in non-exclusively monogamous relationships, regular longer-term follow-up including screening tests and a reminder of prevention advice should be provided.

Repeat the gonorrhea and chlamydia tests every 3 to 12 months, following the same procedure as for the initial diagnosis (see Sample&Test tab).
